Bespoke design, Huddersfield University, Huddersfield

burmatex has recently completed a two-phase refurb project at Huddersfield University. The facilities manager at the university approached burmatex to provide a contemporary and distinctive carpet design that would be hard wearing, after being inspired by its design-led products at an exhibition.

burmatex’s in-house design team created a scheme for the 1,000m² multi-purpose conference room and surrounding corridors that included new tailored loop pile tile, sector and structure bonded tiles, zip and code, highlighting the versatility and coordination of the ranges across all price points.

sector uses contrasting and tonal variation in colour to create a visually textured effect, making this batchless product ideal for areas prone to stains and spillages, where individual tiles may need to be replaced with ease.

The corridors of the building required a product able to withstand heavy footfall but remain in keeping with the contemporary design of the refurb. zip and code’s unique aesthetics and durability were the perfect solution.
