burmatex win environmental and social impact award at this years mixology 10 awards ceremony

Judged by an independent panel of leading architects, specifiers and consultants, the Environmental and Social Impact Award at this years Mixology10 was given to burmatex, who were judged the company to have made the most positive environmental and social impact during the year. Judges at the awards, organised by leading UK office design magazine Mix Interiors, looked for evidence of a cohesive integrated approach, covering areas such as design, materials, product development, manufacturing, marketing and transport, as well as responsibility to the local community. The new burmatex no-nonsense environmental policy was judged to be a refreshing way of addressing issues that can sometimes be confused and over-complicated.

burmatex took the decision earlier this year to produce a simplified corporate policy document to present honest, straightforward facts, in a clear and engaging way. The policy also boldly draws attention to the official ‘A+’ rating awarded to almost all of the burmatex product range by BRE, the industry authority on environmental standards. This new approach was launched by burmatex at Ecobuild in March – the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment.
