double award prospect for burmatex

There are fingers crossed for a double win at burmatex, following news that the company has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards.

Launched last year, burmatex’s new ‘structure bonded™’ carpet design, Lateral™, has been shortlisted for both the Yorkshire Post Innovation of the Year Award and a Roses Product Design Award.

The Yorkshire Post Excellence Awards celebrate the most enterprising and successful businesses within the Yorkshire region and the Innovation of the Year Award will be presented to the company which has developed the most ground-breaking product or service.

Now in their sixth year, the Roses Design Awards are the largest design and architecture awards outside London’s M25 and provide a platform for designers and architects throughout the UK to showcase their work. Lateral™ has been shortlisted for the Product Design Award that recognises the original design of a consumer or a commercial product.

Created using a new, patent pending manufacturing technique, Lateral™ has attracted the judge’s attention because of its unique three-in-one linear finish. Each texture has a different width and pattern to create a high quality, luxurious ‘tufted’ look without compromising on durability and practicality.

Available in 27 attractive stylish shades - from contemporary blues, greys and greens through to vibrant citrus colours which can be used as highlights or in breakout areas - Lateral™ comes in both carpet tile and two metre wide sheet.

Gordon Donald, managing director of burmatex, commented: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for both of these awards. It is testament to the skills of our design team and the quality of the products they are producing and re-affirms that burmatex is a forward thinking, innovative company.”
