fibre-bonded finds new fans
Contract carpet manufacturer burmatex, has declared fibre-bonded the ‘product of the moment’ after its popularity with a new generation of designers has led to it being top of specifiers lists.
Although fibre-bonded products originated in the 1960s, it has now gained popularity within today’s design community. The continued high demand for fibre-bonded products with a modern twist led burmatex to add eight additional shades to its 4200 Sidewalk, Cordiale, 4400 Broadway and Academy ranges last year.
Cordiale is a highly durable, fine ribbed carpet tile which is available in 24 vibrant colours such as St Louis Blue and Italian Coral, as is the sheet version 4200 Sidewalk. Due to its specification, its high durability meets the high performance expectations in areas of heavy wear and tear.
Academy tiles and 4400 Broadway sheet are also extremely hard-wearing but with a broader ribbed pattern creating a more contemporary look. Available in 32 exciting shades, from Texas Rose to Rossall Jade, it is perfect for injecting colour and interest into any environment.
In addition to refreshing its existing fibre-bonded ranges, burmatex built upon the fibre bonded technology with the design and launch of Lateral®, a completely new ‘structure bonded®’ carpet featuring a remarkable three-in-one linear finish. Available in 27 attractive stylish shades - Lateral® comes in both carpet tile and 2 metre wide sheet and has been shortlisted for two design innovation awards.
Design Director at burmatex, Darren Clanford, commented: “Fibre-bonded carpet is experiencing a growth in popularity as a new generation of architects and designers with no pre-conceptions are beginning to specify it more and more. People are increasingly beginning to rediscover what a flexible product it is and new design developments such as lateral® are evidence of how creative it can be.”
