Being is based in Yorkshire, we are lucky to have so many inspiring galleries and museums close by. One of our favourites is The Hepworth. Built and opened in 2011, the gallery won Museum of the year 2017, awarded by Art Fund.

Last week, we visited The Hepworth to see one of the newer exhibitions there; Human Landscapes. The exhibit celebrates the work of Polish artist, Alina Szapocznikow.  Inspired by traumatic events in her own life, many of the artworks are either sculptures or abstract prints. Almost all of them cast or inspired from her own body. These molds or images were then adapted and distorted by the artist to represent or express feeling and memory.
