FLOOR INSPIRATION | CONCRETE

Blog post

Concrete is a material that has seen a big increase in popularity over recent years.

In this post, we are looking to some of our favourite concrete floor installations for inspiration.

Thinking of it as a new way of interpreting the outside in trend that is is happening right now!

NATURE

When outside flooring is left to the elements, you get a great mix of urban and natural. This image from Pinterest shows moss over slabs next to newer, untouched ones.

Replicated in carpet tiles by mixing colour and pattern across three ranges; tandem, alaska and axis.

MONOCHROME

A simple change can have the most impact, rotating the flooring grid is a perfect example of this. A small, considered colour bank keeps this installation sophisticated.

Carpet tiles from two ranges used; hadron and axis.

POP OF COLOUR

Another blend of urban and natural. This time we have also mixed in tile and plank, playing with scale and proportion.

Two ranges used; grade (plank, tile) and infinity.

HALF TILES

By inserting half tiles randomly into a scheme, you can create a shifting pattern across the floor. This works especially well for large areas that warrant a bit more design feature without being too strong. Again, the muted colour palette and using only one range, Alaska, help to keep it looking contemporary without overpowering.
