Carlton le Willows School, Nottingham

A new block, purpose-built for 6th formers, demands an environment that will appeal to this lively and discerning group of students. So the choice of flooring was a crucial part of the project for Carlton le Willows School’s new 6th Form Centre. Burmatex worked closely with the project design team to develop an appropriate solution: creating an inspiring and welcoming floor from a combination of Zip, Code and Lateral® tiles, laid in a quarter-turn pattern with differentiated borders and flooring scheme.

The purple-blue combination works equally well in the classrooms, computer room, office, and with the leather sofas in the common room. By contrast, a practical grey tile runs along the corridors and up the stairs – more appropriate for areas of intensive wear. For the entrance area, tiles were specially cut in an intricate design to incorporate the school logo.
