Huddersfield University

This 1,000m2 conference room provides unobstructed, versatile space for everything from exhibitions and presentations to business seminars and parties. The University came to Burmatex for a carpet design that would be contemporary and distinctive, yet capable of withstanding hard wear from multiple uses.

The dramatic yet functional result is a patchwork pattern of light grey Sector tiles featuring a sky blue highlight to create extra visual interest. The sky blue is also picked up in a border of contrasting Axis tiles around the edge of the room. The light colour scheme works perfectly in this challenging space.

The conference room has been transformed by the new floor. The University are so pleased with the result that they have extended the new design into the breakout areas surrounding the room.
