Within Doncaster Civic Office the Burmatex® surface range (discontinued) offers a visually textured appearance, combining expert design and practicality to a heavy contract (class 33) standard. Along with the existing colour of tangle cube Burmatex® were tasked with creating a special purple colour-way for the unique project. The organic design of this Green Guide A rated product beautifully complements the large, contemporary spaces within the building, softening the natural light which floods the bright central atrium.
Wakefield One represented a flagship building within a major regeneration project for Wakefield Council, who requested a unique, contemporary carpet tile. The projects interior design was completed by NPS Architects and used two Burmatex® products to meet the design requirements. Offering a rich texture and strong visual impact, bespoke wick was installed in two contrasting greys for a sophisticated and impactful design with clear zoning throughout the building. Highlight shades in a cut-pile range were used to introduce accents of colour into the final scheme, with the custom shades of green and purple matching the corporate colours of Wakefield Council.
As well as receiving the award for architectural excellence, the Wakefield One building is also the winner of the RIBA Yorkshire Sustainability Award – itself holding a Green Guide, excellent rating.
The selection of Burmatex® carpet tiles for these notable installations demonstrates our ability to realise a conceptual design with striking, Green Guide A or A+ rated (with 75% recycled Accummen™ backing), heavy contract suitable solutions. Combining flexible product ranges and bespoke potential enables the creation of truly unique, award winning schemes.
