2022 COLOURS OF THE YEAR

In this post we've been looking at the recent 'colour of the year' predictions announced within the interior sector, and analysing how these work with our products! From Pantone's vibrant Very Peri, to the popularity of muted greens and blues, the range of trend colours to watch out for this year is exciting, and we can't wait to see what installations they end up featured in.

Dulux

Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2022, Bright Skies, is a refreshing and revitalising nature-inspired shade, it’s light and airy feel gives a sense of space and wellbeing. This shade pairs really well with tones of a similar nature, inspired by the outdoors – greens and browns give a really earthy yet fresh feel as well as darker navy hues. This colour would be a really smart choice for office renovations, giving employees a sense of wellbeing in their interiors, and would work well with our tiltnturn sky tint and alaska lake products.

Sherwin Williams

Sherwin Williams’s Colour of the Year 2022, Evergreen Fog, follows the rise in popularity of soft pastely greens we've loved! Evergreen Fog features a muted, grey-green shade inspired by the soft calm of a forest. In keeping with the theme of colour and mental wellbeing this shade would be a great choice for office interiors and could be achieved with our balance ground sage or balance grade sage vista! Alternatively, greys as well as soft muted naturals would work beautifully as an accent to this subtle green.

Pantone

See our Pantone Colour of the Year 2022 blog post here, where we look further into the Veri Peri shade – much brighter than the other COTYs in this post and could be better suited to accent colours of furniture or smaller items in a scheme. Though for the bolder customer – our tivoli crete blue is a great pop of colour to the floor! Alternatively, tivoli mist nordic fjord would provide a nod to this energetic colour in subtle areas of mists, blending into grey.

Valspar

Valspar Colours of the Year 2022 feature a more ranging mix, we’ve picked out our top picks from the collection here!

Rustik Oak is inspired by a nostalgic nod to the 70s, a trend we’ve seen everywhere! With the popularity of warm neutrals we’ve seen over the past year, it’s no surprise this beautiful colour would feature. The warm tan would pair wonderfully with the subtlety of osaka mochi or dapple spring seed to bring more warmth in a softer way to the floor, or a more saturated colour using infinity solar flare.

Grey Suit is also in keeping with the popularity of sagey greens we’ve been seeing, the more muted tone provides a beautiful softness to an interior, our balance ground sage or balance grade sage vista both provide a calming sense to the floor of a space, as well as dapple airy celadon.
