Recognised at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Yorkshire Architectural Awards, Wakefield One (designed by Cartwright Pickard Architects) received an award for architectural excellence and the RIBA Yorkshire Sustainability Award – holding a Green Guide, excellent rating.
Representing a flagship building within a major regeneration project, Wakefield Council requested a unique, contemporary carpet tile. The projects interior design (completed by NPS Architects) used two Burmatex® products to meet these design requirements. Offering a strong visual impact, bespoke wick was installed in two contrasting greys for a sophisticated, impactful design with clear zoning throughout the building. Highlights in a custom cut-pile product introduced accents of colour into the scheme, with the selected green and purple matching the corporate colours of Wakefield Council.
Developing the Burmatex® environmental portfolio their refreshed tivoli range – including tivoli, tivoli online and tivoli multiline – achieved an overall Green Guide A rating and an A+ rating when used in retail locations. The refreshed construction of tivoli exchanges polypropylene yarn for a resilient, high performance 100% solution dyed nylon, offering heavy contract (class 33) durability. Since 2009 Burmatex® have assessed their products through the comprehensive BRE Global’s Environmental certification with all ranges holding A or A+ Green Guide ratings.
These exceptional ratings demonstrate the environmental standards which allow Burmatex® to offer striking, BRE Global’s Environmental rated, heavy contract suitable solutions.
