COLOUR FOCUS | GREY

This post is looking at all things grey as part of our ongoing colour focus series

Grey as a colour has had a real resurgence in the past 10 years. Specifically in carpet tiles, where blue was once the bestseller, grey has rapidly and steadily overtaken it. Grey is now seen as the truest neutral; an ideal base for all colours to compliment, from flooring to finishes.

Previously on this blog we have looked into "what is the perfect grey" but today we are focusing on how broad the spectrum of grey is. At Burmatex, it is essential that we have at least 1 grey in every carpet tile collection. From warm to cool toned, mixed with other greys or other colours, grey is the core of each product range we release. Some of our favourite installations use grey heavily, either with or without a highlight colour. Traditionally, the European market would favour cool greys, and the U.S market warm. However, recent trends have been warming up all greys globally and it is now just as important for us (a U.K based manufacturer) to have a good variety of warm greys as well as our staple cools.
