newly built NUAST educational building completed with Burmatex® carpet tiles

Burmatex® designers have combined a monochromatic theme with unique elements of design in a flooring scheme to ideally suit the space at the newly built Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST). This installation defines different areas of the university academy by using two heavy contract suitable, Green Guide A+/A carpet tile ranges – balance stripe and tivoli.

The first installation area features a mid-grey background in balance stripe pencil lead with a number of staggered linear inserts in the darker balance stripe classic grey (each ending in a single bright carpet tile of balance stripe space dust). This contemporary scheme uses a linear design which flows across the space in a classic quarter turn installation.

Elsewhere in the educational building two designs from the Burmatex® tivoli range have been installed – tivoli and tivoli multiline. In the central open space tivoli antigua steel maintains the bright, airy finish of the modern teaching environment, while the unique striped design of tivoli multiline has been used to maximise the available space. tivoli multiline melanesia grey has been used along the corridors and to create connected, defined walkways throughout the building.

The corresponding colours of tivoli antigua steel and tivoli multiline melanesia grey are complemented and contrasted in the final scheme. Ranging across the grey spectrum, the doors used on student lockers perfectly pull in the different greys while bright yellow feature walls have been used to animate the space without overwhelming the scheme.
