Pantone is always a key source of inspiration for designers, but the announcement of the pantone colour of the year always sparks excitement and enthusiasm more than any other time of the year. For designers and colour lovers alike, there’s nothing better than opening each new pantone trend forecasting book and with it the flood gate of inspiration and new ideas, which then evolve into the next season’s collections and even inspire company branding and marketing. This is the reason why creative teams wait with great anticipation for the announcement of colour of the year as we all know that this colour will influence a spectrum of creative disciplines such as interior design, fashion design, product design, graphics and many more.

As current lifestyle trends for healthy living, outdoor exercise, travel to palm tree peppered beaches, visiting rainforest retreats and eating an avocado a day (my personal favourite!) influence our daily lives, it’s no surprise that pantone have referenced our desire to reconnect with nature with the colour of the year for 2017… 15-0343 greenery.  With buzz words such as ‘revive’, ‘restore’ and ‘renew’, the colour ‘greenery’ definitely has a positive vibe… one which will hopefully inspire all to reconnect with nature and think green!

‘A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.’
