COLOUR TREND | BLUE
In this post we are looking at the recent re-surge of the colour blue in fashion and interiors.
The burmatex design team are involved in many aspects of carpet tile development and installation. From creating new ways to lay our carpet tiles as well as developing new product collections.
Looking into colour and pattern trends is a big part of our role and over the past year we have seen an influx of the colour blue. It is showing up constantly in trend research that we subscribe to, online and published articles as well as projects we have worked on. No longer thought of as old fashion or overpowered by grey, blue is having a real comeback!
Be bold and use blue as a strong statement colour! Or stay soft and sophisticated with a neutral blue-grey mix, like the Dulux colour of the year for 2017, Denim Drift. Blue is known for it’s calming properties, links to nature and it easily compliments neutrals (greys, blacks, whites, beige) as well as stronger colours, such as oranges, reds, purples and greens.
The natural link from blue (water) to green (land) ties neatly back into the Pantone colour of the year for 2017, Greenery.
The boards below explore this new blue era we are entering; how to mix and match blue with different colours and hues, as well as how to tie all of this into your floor design.
